Pharmacy is an exact science. These are not physical models or mathematical assertions, but nevertheless "hard" knowledge is in the first place. However, when working in a pharmacy, it turns out that all this knowledge is often insufficient to fulfill in the profession of a pharmacist and carry out a mission to help patients.
Medical history is the basis for proper diagnosis and treatment by a doctor. A similar role in the pharmacy is played by the so-called pharmaceutical interview, that is part of the conversation with the patient, in which pharmacists can and should gather as much information about their patient as possible.
