The hormone pill is currently the most effective form of reversible contraception. Provides almost 100% protection against unplanned pregnancy and the possibility of interrupting it at any time and planning the date of birth of a child. And no less important - modern contraception is becoming more and more health-friendly woman.
WHAT IS THE MODERN ANTICONCEPTION?
Imitation of female hormones
The goal of modern hormonal contraception is to effectively prevent unplanned pregnancy with a minimum of side effects. The newest hormonal preparations, the activity of which is trying to imitate the female hormones, are the closest to this ideal. They are characterized by the highest effectiveness, because their use introduces female ovaries into a "physiological state of sleep" until they stop taking the tablets. The result is the lack of ovulation - the surest contraception! An additional effect of hormonal pills is the thickening of mucus in the cervix, which creates a difficult barrier for sperms.
The efficacy of a hormonal pill is evidenced by the meaningful numbers of documented research.
Using the traditional calendar method causes on a yearly basis - up to 47 unscheduled pregnancies among 100 women who use it. Condoms or vaginal spermicides can cause up to 36 unplanned pregnancies among the 100 women who use it. Meanwhile, a two-component hormone tablet reduces unplanned pregnancies to 2-5 per 1,000 women who use it!
Safety of hormonal therapies
All complex hormonal contraceptives available on the Polish market to a similar extent prevent pregnancy. The modern pill must therefore offer patients more than just high efficiency - namely: MINIMIZING? NOT PROTECTED IN EVERY THERAPY OF UNICESTED SYMPTOMS AND MORE AND POSITIVE POSSIBILITIES OF COUNTERPARTIES.
Is a modern hormone pill safe for health?
It is often heard that hormonal contraceptives are harmful to health, cause excessive weight gain, acne, uncontrolled hair growth, threaten cancer. How is it really? Well, according to medical authorities, most of these allegations should be dismissed as harmful myths. They were created when the tablet contained many times higher dose of hormones. Recall that hormonal pills appeared in the world in the 60s of the last century. Indeed, the former were not completely safe. They contained very high doses of hormones which was associated with an adverse effect on the woman's body.
Currently, safety ensures minimization of hormone doses and individualization of therapy!
It is generally known that with hormonal contraception there is a certain risk of more frequent occurrence of certain cardiovascular diseases: - deep vein thrombosis, myocardial infarction, stroke, some types of cancer. The threat of these diseases is also dependent on personal circumstances, such as elevated cholesterol, smoking, age and others. In the last decades, however, there have been huge changes involving the minimization of hormone doses - especially estrogen, as well as changes in the quality of progestagens used. They significantly reduced the risk of these diseases. In addition, the principle of modern hormonal therapy is very careful medical supervision over the patient - ie over its hormonal balance and general health. Thanks to this supervision, women generally do not have severe hormonal disorders. They carefully eliminate infections of the genital tract and threats caused by erosions and benign tumors. As a consequence, they are less likely to die from cancer. This is also due to the fact that hormonal contraception reduces the risk of some forms of cancer - for example, cancer of the endometrium and ovaries.
Estrogen from the tablet effectively replaces the physiological hormone.
Although due to the use of the contraceptive pill, the secretion of own hormones is "dormant" - the hormones given in a nutshell have almost identical properties and perform the same physiological roles. These hormones are very necessary in the proper functioning of the woman's body. They are not just sex hormones, but they have a significant impact on many metabolic processes in the woman's body. Favorable, among others, on the circulatory system and bone system. The softness and elasticity of the skin are also the merits of estrogen. That is why it is so important that the estrogen dose used is right for every woman.

Which tablet to choose?
All hormonal two-component pills to prevent unwanted pregnancy contain estrogen in the form of ethinyl estradiol. The second component - progestagen - is usually 19-nortestosterone or a 17β-hydroxyprogesterone derivative. It should be emphasized that in the last decades there have been enormous changes consisting in the minimization of doses of ethinyl estradiol as well as on the modernization of the applied progestagens. In general, the lower the estrogen dose, the closer the progestin to natural progesterone, the smaller the effect on metabolism.
To choose the right measure for a woman, a gynecological examination is necessary
The first three cycles should always be considered as "adaptive". Temporary irregular bleeding, gastrointestinal complaints and painful swelling of the nipples occur temporarily. If the unwanted symptoms do not show a tendency to give way - you should think about changing the preparation or a different method of contraception
Tablets with a content of 30 -35 micrograms of ethinylestradiol are most commonly used.
Those that contain the lowest dose (in Poland is 20 micrograms) are not more safe, but rather intended for a selected group of patients. All contraceptive pills contain the same estrogen component.
Optimal health progestagens
Currently, hormonal pills differ from each other qualitatively usually in the type of progestin used. Because the constant improvement of the quality of this hormone depends not only on the effectiveness of contraception, but also on the health-promoting effect of the tablet. The latest progestagens not only lack the undesired androgenic ("male") effects, after which acne, seborrhea, accelerated weight gain, and small hair may have appeared in the past. On the contrary - more and more often they have a positive effect on the complexion; they can be used as an auxiliary in the treatment of acne.
A modern pre -gestagen with a physiological effect
If we use a modern progestin with a very close to physiological effect, it so effectively imitates the natural hormone that it "cheats" the body and minimizes the side effects of the therapy. A hormone with a physiologically very similar activity to a progesterone in a woman's body is, for example, a progestogen called drospirenone. Due to its high similarity to the natural hormone, it counteracts undesirable estrogen-dependent symptoms - such as: periodic retention of water and sodium in the body. Recall - the retention of water and sodium in the body causes weight gain, painful breast tension, swelling, etc.
A pill beneficial to your health?
When considering the decision to start using the contraceptive pill, it's worth knowing that this method of contraception can give you more than just effective protection against unwanted pregnancy. Recent research shows that the use of a contraceptive pill with a properly selected hormonal composition, for example with the mentioned drospirenone, allows not only effective contraception, but can also bring additional measurable health benefits.A well-chosen contraceptive pill relieves the syndrome of premenstrual syndrome symptoms, irregular or abnormal menstrual periods, without causing an inconvenient weight gain. Hormones used in it may also reduce the risk of ovarian cancer and endometrium.

POST ? P IN HORMONAL ANTI-CARTON OF FRIENDLY HEALTH
Modern contraception relieves premenstrual symptoms.
Every woman is known for the period of menstrual tension and the associated irritability, nervousness, lower abdominal pain and depressed mood. It is also accompanied by weight gain, problems with complexion or hair or increased hunger and ailments associated with menstruation. Due to monthly indisposition, women significantly limit their professional activity, and their quality of life is reduced. They suffer from their relationships with their surroundings, family or friends. Most oral contraceptives reduce these symptoms to a greater or lesser extent. In health-friendly contraception, which medicine aspires to - the task of modern progestagens is to alleviate or eliminate the syndrome of the aforementioned unpleasant and unfavorable symptoms. It has been shown that, for example, the hormonal pill with modern drospirenon has a soothing effect on the symptoms of PMS. Drospirenone, reduces the feeling of tender breast tension, body swelling and heaviness.
Some progestins have a beneficial effect on the skin
The increase in the activity of male hormones (so-called androgens) in the woman's body causes the intensification of skin lesions that appear most often in the form of advanced acne and hair in typically masculine places - above the upper lip, on the cheeks, nipples. The already mentioned drospirenone is a progestogen with anti-androgenic activity, i.e. inhibiting the activity of male hormones. Studies have shown that under the influence of this type of progestagens reduces the production of sebum in the sebaceous glands of the skin, which has a beneficial effect on oily hair. The result of their use is also a significant reduction in the severity of acne symptoms.
Friendly, but unfortunately not for every woman
Unfortunately, not all women can use hormonal agents. Hormone pills should not take, among others, women with coronary disease, atherosclerosis, after blockages and strokes, suffering from breast cancer. However, if you take into account these necessary barriers for women with so-called risk groups for other contraception can be completely safe and health-friendly. Of course, the proper care of the supervising doctor is a prerequisite.
Contraception is already an experienced and mature therapy
Hormonal contraception is already a mature method and tested by two generations of women. The constantly growing popularity is due to the highest effectiveness among other methods of contraception and constant progress in reducing undesirable effects and the care of manufacturers for the growth of pro-health effects of therapy.
