CHAPTER IV; PREZERVATIVES AND OTHER MECHANICAL ANTICONE METHODS
The effectiveness of condoms depends on compliance with important rules. Here they are:
1. We buy condoms only in the pharmacy, to be sure that the product is of good quality and meets the required standards.
2. We store them so as not to destroy them - and not too long. To protect them from damage, it's better to carry them in your wallet than in your back pocket.
3. We always use them, at every intercourse, do not try to be happy with the calendars calculated to the eye or not rely on the fate of happiness.
It's worth knowing how to use a condom.
1. The condom should only be applied when the member is fully awakened.
2. Put on the condom carefully so as not to damage it with your nails. Do not tear the package with your teeth!
3. Insert the condom, expanding it on the member from the tip to the root (it is worth checking first which direction the condom has been coiled).
4. When applying a condom, squeeze the container on the end of the condom with your fingers so that air does not get into it.
5. We put on and take off the condom, avoiding contact of the sperm with the woman's genitals.
6. The vagina should only be introduced into the vagina when it is properly moistened. Do not use accidental wetting agents. Most olives and creams can damage the condom. If we need additional moisturizing, we can buy a special preparation (eg K. Y. Jelly) or some spermicide.
7. The member should be removed from the vagina immediately after ejaculation, when it is still quite stiff. This should be done by holding the condom at the base - so that no sperm will escape!
8. Carefully with the remainder of the sperm remaining on the member. Sperm should be washed immediately. The sperm remnant could also remain in the urethra and its secretion.
9. At the next intercourse, you need to put on a new condom!
It is good to know that failure to follow these simple rules causes more unwanted pregnancies than dramatic events such as the break of a condom.
For additional protection, vaginal spermicides should be used with the condom.
You can also use condoms covered with spermicide - however, their contraceptive effectiveness is much lower than when you use additional spermicides in the form of globules or foams. The use of spermicides after intercourse does not give anything - it is already too late to protect against pregnancy.
And what can you do if, in spite of all precautions, the condom will break or slip?
Instead of biting your nails and getting into neurosis, you can still use contraception after intercourse. We write about it separately, here we will only add that in the case of a condom defect you should contact your doctor as soon as possible (no later than within 2-3 days). There are condom advocates and people who complain that they will never use them.

It is proven that the contraceptive effectiveness of condoms depends on two factors.
♦ the quality of the material of the anti-inflationary barrier
♦ skilful use.
All mistakes are immediately detrimental to effectiveness, and therefore an unwanted pregnancy.
In efficacy studies, the effectiveness of condoms is determined in the Pearl Index at 8 to 11 (so out of 100 women who use a condom for one year from 8 to 11 can get pregnant). But these results are much better in the group of people who fully accept this method and skillfully use it - the Pearl index is then from 3.1 to 4.8. If, however, we examine the effectiveness of a condom among older women, over 35 years of age (already less fertile, but more experienced), it turns out that the Pearl index drops to 1.7!
What to avoid for a condom to be a full contraceptive cover?
1. Do not buy condoms anywhere: in the bazaar, from colleagues.
It is safest to buy in a pharmacy.
2. Check that the condoms have Polish approval.
3. Do not save: the lower price is also usually the lower quality.
4. Store the condoms so that they will not be damaged.
5. Use them for every relationship. Do not count on happiness.
6. Check if your partner can correctly put on a condom.
7. If the condom breaks, do not panic. Take advantage of contraception after intercourse.
Final remark! Swe are invoking to use condoms every time:
- we are dealing with a new partner,
- we are not absolutely sure that the partner is completely faithful to us,
- partner is ill - even if it was only transient inflammation:
external organs, vagina, bladder, etc.
