It happens that the pill will not work because it will not be properly absorbed.
This can happen mainly in case of vomiting. If you vomit within 3 hours of taking the tablet, you can take the next tablet. However, if the vomiting is longer and you are worried that the second pill will also be expelled, follow the pattern for forgetful people. You can have a similar problem with the appearance of severe diarrhea. If it is not accompanied by vomiting (and this combination happens with strong poisoning) or it does not last longer than two days, you can not worry. The tablets will absorb anyway. As always, if in doubt, consult a doctor, especially if you are taking coal or antibiotics. In these cases, there is a fear that the tablets will not fully absorb. Therefore, one should proceed according to the scheme for forgetful people.
Take a hormonal pill differently
One pack, one week break, another pack - this is usually the case of birth control pills. However, in some cases you can opt out of the break week and start a new pack immediately after finishing the previous one. This mode of using a pill has one big advantage: it allows you to avoid bleeding in uncomfortable time - during weekend trips, classes, sports competitions, exams. We can do it on our own: you do not need any medical permits. However, you can only do this for single-phase pills! And of course you should not do it too often. If we miss the obligatory week of taking the tablets, we take more hormones than in the normal mode of use. And in any such case you should stop taking a pill every week for at least three cycles.
But be careful!
Three-phase preparations are not suitable for avoiding bleeding at an uncomfortable time
A way for migraines and depressionduring a week break?
Doctors sometimes recommend taking tablets - three packs in a row, one week without tablets, three packs - those women who feel bad during a week's break. Such bad mood is most often migraine headaches or depression.
The contraceptive pill and other medicines
Most drugs affect the effects of other medications, and their mutual influence, often undesirable, is called drug interactions. That is also the case with the pill. Various interactions of the contraceptive pill with drugs are known. That's why responsible doctors ask about other used specifics. This does not mean that taking any other medications would always force you to give up hormonal contraception. Sometimes you can use it, but you should make sure it will not cause any complications.
Interrupting drug interactions
This can happen if a woman takes anti-epileptics or high doses of sleeping pills or sedatives. Barbiturates, Phenytoin, Meprobamat, Relanium taken in large doses accelerate the process of hormone breaking down in the liver. As a result, contraceptive activity is weakened, and spotting or bleeding may also occur. You should then use preparations with a higher content of hormones. Similarly, some dehydrating drugs and some short-term medications work, for example, antibiotics with a so-called broad spectrum (that is, eradicate many different types of bacteria). While taking these medicines, it is worth using an additional contraceptive method throughout the course of antibiotic treatment.
Ask your doctor if you are using any medicines
It is always advisable to ask the doctor about the effect of medicines on contraception. It may also happen that the opposite effect than the above-described effect weakens the action of hormones, there are also measures that can strengthen this effect. These include such popular drugs as paracetamol or vitamin C, as well as some agents used to treat mycosis. These medications, used for a long time and in very high doses, may lead to liver dysfunction and increase the risk of venous thrombi.

How to increase the effectiveness of the hormone pill?
1. Take the pill at the same time. Record the date of taking the first tablet from the package. Check with the calendar in hand, whether you missed it.
2. Always start packaging on Sunday. Thanks to this, during the weekend you will not have any bleeding. If the first pack starts on a different day than Sunday, you can add a few tablets. Consult a doctor.
3. Do not put your pills off hastily for a couple of weeks.
4. If you are ill and your doctor prescribes you medicines, always be sure that you take a pill and check that new medicines do not affect its effectiveness.
5. If mild discomfort occurs, do not stop taking your pills overnight. Contact a doctor.
