The nucleus is the male, even internal organ. It plays a very important biological role: it produces sperm (reproductive function) and hormones that are involved in the regulation of hormonal sexual life and determine secondary sexual characteristics (sexual function).
They are similar in size to walnuts; are suspended loosely in the scrotum, the so-called sperm cord. The left nucleus is usually larger than the right and lower hung. The outer layer of the nuclei is the so-called a whitish membrane, forming on the posterior margin of the nucleus, a thickening called the epididymis, from which the nucleus divisions radiate outwardly, dividing them into nearly 200 lobules (they contain winding coils with a total length of 300 m in the nucleus). Each of the payroll comes with a simple seed coil, which connects with other coils in the intrauterum, creating a nucleus. In the seminal sperm coils, sperm are formed and male sex hormones are produced in the tortuous coils.
In Latin, the testes are called testimonium, or testimony. In the past, a man, touching them, argued that he was telling the truth. The testicles are very sensitive to pain and heat. For proper performance of their function, a temperature of 4 ° C lower than body temperature is required. Hence the recommendation to wear loose trousers and avoid overheating of the testicles. When it is cold, the body protects it, pulling it closer to the body when it is too warm - vice versa. Testicular overheating is one of the causes of infertility.
