Obesity is not only a cosmetic problem, but it is a serious health problem due to numerous health risks.
DANGERS OF OBESITY
Obesity causes loss of a slim figure and reduced physical fitness.
But this is not all the misfortunes that fall on a person with this disease. Obesity poses serious health risks - such as diabetes, atherosclerosis, degenerative diseases of the joints and the spine increases the risk of heart attack and stroke ...
Dangerous obesity like "apple"
Along with the baggage of kilograms of obesity, the risk of premature death increases significantly.
This fatal threat is affected not only by the level of overweight and the amount of fat. The distribution of excess kilograms on the body has a significant impact. Particularly high risk of disease complications is the silhouette of the "apple" type characterized by the central distribution of fat on the body map - the accumulation of visceral fat.
Body index is used to assess fat distribution in the body.
Currently, however, the use of the waist circumference measurement itself is more often used as a better indicator of both the overall fat content and its central accumulation, which is indicative of health risk, than the BMI.
Based on the waist circumference measurement, visceral obesity levels can be distinguished:

> 102 cm
The diagnosis of the type and severity of obesity allows to assess the degree of risk of metabolic disorders such as, for example, type 2 diabetes.
The probability of these disorders is increased if the first degree of visceral obesity occurs with a BMI> 25 kg / m2, and with the second degree of visceral obesity the probability of complications is very high.
The most serious clinical consequence of visceral obesity is type 2 diabetes.
About 80% of people with type 2 diabetes are obese. The risk of its occurrence increases with increasing BMI; in people with BMI over 35 it is 80-fold higher than in people with BMI below 23.
