GENERAL CONDITION ARE PROTECTING A TREATMENT OF CAROT CANCER CANCER
The chance of a cure depends to a large extent on prognostic factors such as:
- the degree of cancer advancement already mentioned
- general health
- age,
- the level of hemoglobin in the blood,
- no inflammation in the pelvis,
- pregnancy co-existence,
- kidney disease
- the need for radiotherapy
The influence of prognostic factors resulting from health
In patients between 60-69 years of age, a higher stage of cancer is diagnosed - ie 3rd and 4th degree (data from Annual Report and Oncology Center in Warsaw). Low hemoglobin prevents proper treatment and often delays it. In the case of radiotherapy, the duration of treatment is prolonged, which adversely affects the length of the survival. Inflammation in the pelvis and fever complications prolong the treatment and adversely affect the survival. The coexistence of pregnancy, especially in highly advanced stages of cancer, adversely affects survival.
The percentage of long-term survivals depending on the stage of squamous cell carcinoma is similar
Very important factors affecting the prognosis are factors independent of tumor characteristics and the condition of the patient ("host" and "guest"). Such factors include the team's experience and therapeutic options of the treatment center. Lymph node status also has a significant impact on the survival time. The more lymph node metastases, the worse the prognosis as to the length of the survival.
