1 tabl vaginal contains 100 mg of miconazole nitrate. The preparation contains lactose.
Action:
Imidazole antifungal agent. It is characterized by a broad spectrum of action against pathogenic fungi (including yeasts and dermatophytes) and has antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus sp., Streptococcus sp.). Miconazole nitrate interferes with the biosynthesis of ergosterol, and also changes the composition of lipids in the cell membrane of the fungal cells, leading to their death. When applied vaginally, it is not absorbed.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended (no safety data). Coagulation time should be monitored in patients concomitantly treated with oral anticoagulants and the preparation. Protect eyes from contact with the preparation. In the case of local irritation or allergic reaction, treatment should be discontinued.
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy, use only after considering when the potential benefits outweigh the risks. Caution should be exercised when using the drug in breast-feeding women.
Side effects:
Rare: irritation at the injection site, local sensitization or hypersensitivity. In the case of hypersensitivity, the drug should be discontinued.
Dosage:
Intravaginal: 1 plate once a day, in the evening. The tablet should be inserted deep into the vagina. Treatment should be carried out for 15 days. Despite earlier relief of symptoms, treatment should continue for several days.
