Different forms of baldness, especially in androgen-dependent baldness.
Composition:
1 ml of fluid contains 2 mg of Prednisolone, 0.05 mg of estradiol benzoate and 4 mg of salicylic acid. The drug contains propylene glycol.
Action:
Preparation for external use. It is a combination of estrogen, synthetic glucocorticoid and salicylic acid. Prednisolone is a glucocorticosteroid with weak local effects. Estradiol benzoate inhibits the enzyme 5-areductase, which is responsible for the synthesis of biologically active dihydrotestosterone and binds to androgen receptors in the hair follicle. Salicylic acid increases the absorption of other active substances through the skin, keratoplasty and antimicrobiotics. Estradiol benzoate contained in the preparation did not increase the estrogen concentration in the blood. Prednisolone and salicylic acid are metabolized in the liver and excreted mainly by the kidneys. T0,5 prednisolone is 12-36 h, salicylic acid 2-4 h.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to prednisolone, estradiol benzoate, salicylic acid, propylene glycol or other ingredients. Occurrence or suspicion of estrogen-dependent tumors. Bleeding from the reproductive organs of unknown etiology. Chicken pox, tuberculosis, syphilis, inflammatory reactions to vaccination. Fungal or bacterial skin infections. Inflammation of the skin around the mouth. Rosacea. Diseases of the scalp with a discharge or an acute course. Do not use in the area of mucous membranes, in the mouth, to or near the eyes, in the genital area and internally. Infants, children and young people up to 18 years old.
Precautions:
For treatment for more than 2-3 weeks, caution should be exercised in cases of endometriosis or mastopathy and in women who are taking estrogen preparations. The preparation contains propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation. Avoid contact of eyes and mucous membranes with the preparation.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation should not be used during pregnancy due to the estrogen content. If pregnancy and pregnancy occur during treatment, the treatment should be discontinued immediately. During long-term glucocorticoid therapy, fetal damage can not be ruled out. At the end of pregnancy, there is a risk of the adrenal cortex fading. Do not use during breast-feeding.
Side effects:
Rare: skin hypersensitivity. Very rare: skin changes (reduction of skin thickness, widening of small blood vessels, formation of streaks, steroid acne, perioral dermatitis, excessive body hair). In addition, short-term skin irritations (eg burning, redness) are possible. During long-term use in high doses or on large surfaces, systemic effects of the glucocorticoids are possible.
Dosage:
Once a day (preferably in the evening) the liquid is applied with the help of an applicator on the diseased scalp, then it massages the skin for 2-3 minutes. Treatments are repeated until the symptoms are reduced, after which the preparation is applied 2-3 times a week. The treatment should not be longer than 2-3 weeks.
