Hair loss in the course of diseases such as: scalp psoriasis, seborrheic eczema, seborrhea, alopecia areata, diffuse hair loss, as well as after systemic infections.
Composition:
1 ml of fluid contains 2 mg of Prednisolone and 4 mg of salicylic acid. The drug contains propylene glycol.
Action:
Preparation for external use. Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid with weak local effects. Salicylic acid increases the absorption of prednisolone through the skin, keratoplasty and antimicrobiotics. Prednisolone and salicylic acid are metabolized in the liver and excreted mainly by the kidneys. T0,5 prednisolone is 12-36 h, salicylic acid 2-4 h.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Prednisolone, salicylic acid, propylene glycol or other ingredients of the preparation. Chicken pox, tuberculosis, syphilis, inflammatory reactions to vaccination. Fungal or bacterial skin infections. Inflammation of the skin around the mouth. Rosacea. Do not use in the area of mucous membranes, in the mouth, to or near the eyes, in the genital area and internally. Children up to 12 years old.
Precautions:
Due to the propylene glycol content, skin irritation may occur.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation should not be used during pregnancy due to the salicylic acid content, except for small surfaces (<5 cm2). During long-term glucocorticoid therapy, fetal damage can not be ruled out. At the end of pregnancy, there is a risk of the adrenal cortex fading. Glucocorticosteroids penetrate in small amounts into breast milk: up to 10 mg daily should be carefully considered the indication for use, at higher doses should stop feeding.
Side effects:
Rare: allergic contact spot. Very rare: skin lesions, teleangiectasias, post-acne acne, dermatitis, excessive body hair, burning or redness of the skin. Long-term use (over 2-3 weeks) or application to large areas of the skin (the entire scalp) may cause systemic side effects caused by glucocorticoids.
Dosage:
Once a day (preferably in the evening) the liquid is applied with the help of an applicator on the diseased scalp, then it massages the skin for 2-3 minutes. Treatments are repeated until the symptoms are reduced, after which the preparation is applied 2-3 times a week. The treatment should not be longer than 2-3 weeks. In children, the maximum daily dose of salicylic acid is 0.2 g.
