Relief of muscle and joint pains and stiffness caused by overload, injury or inflammation, as well as low back pain in adults and children over 12 years of age.
Composition:
1 g Ointment contains 150 mg of methyl salicylate and 100 mg of menthol.
Action:
An analgesic agent for topical use. It acts as an analgesic by stimulating sensory skin receptors and affects deeper structures such as joints, muscles and tendons. Menthol causes a rapid occurrence of a feeling of coolness. Methyl salicylate acts as a local irritant and acts symptomatically to reduce deeper localized pain. The combined effect of both ingredients reduces muscle pain and reduces muscle tension that causes pain. The use of ointment causes the expansion of small capillary vessels, which facilitates the outflow of irritants (such as lactic acid), and as a result, muscle relaxation and increased range of motion in the joints.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Do not use on irritated skin and open wounds and children under 12 years of age.
Precautions:
Only use the product externally, do not use under warming dressing. Discontinue use if skin irritation or rash occurs. Do not use ointments in patients receiving anticoagulants ( Warfarin, acenocoumarol, risk of bleeding). The preparation contains anhydrous lanolin, which can cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis).
Pregnancy and lactation:
Caution should be exercised when using ointments in pregnant and breast-feeding women.
Side effects:
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders may occur. Menthol may cause some people signs of toxicity (urticaria, erythema, other skin reactions). Toxic effects due to the intake of excessive amounts of menthol include nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting and symptoms of disorders o.u.n. such as dizziness, stuttering, redness of the face, drowsiness, slowed breathing and coma. Methyl salicylate can cause local irritation.
Dosage:
Apply topically to the skin. Adults and children over 12 years: apply the preparation to a sick place and rub it gently massaging until completely absorbed, apply 3-4 times a day for up to 10 days. After 10 days, consider the appropriateness of the preparation.
