Local symptomatic treatment of pain caused by sudden strain, sprain or contusions in the limbs due to injuries, e.g. sports injuries.
Composition:
1 treatment patch contains 140 mg of Diclofenac sodium.
Action:
Diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis. It relieves pain, reduces swelling and fever caused by inflammation. In addition, it reversibly inhibits platelet aggregation under the influence of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and collagen. Diclofenac is absorbed slowly and not completely. Absorption to a sore spot may vary and depends on the type and extent of the injury and the site of application. The plasma protein binding of diclofenac is 99%. Its absorption and excretion are similar in both oral administration and when applied to the skin. After the stage of rapid hepatic metabolism, 2/3 of the active substance is excreted via the kidneys and 1/3 through the bile ducts.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other ingredients of the preparation (e.g., propylene glycol, butylhydroxytoluene). Hypersensitivity to other analgesics and anti-rheumatic drugs (NSAIDs, acetylsalicylic acid). Patients who have had asthma attacks, urticaria or acute rhinitis after taking Acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs. Active stomach ulcer and / or duodenal ulcer. Open wounds, burns, skin infections or eczema. Third trimester of pregnancy.
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with impaired renal, cardiac or hepatic function, as well as patients with a history of peptic ulcer and / or duodenal ulcer, intestinal inflammation or haemorrhagic diathesis. Elderly patients should use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs with extreme caution. Do not use the treatment patch around the eyes or mucous membranes. Do not allow contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Patients with bronchial asthma or a history or allergy may experience bronchospasm. To reduce the risk of photosensitivity, avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or using the tanning bed for one day after removing the patch. The use in children and adolescents under 15 years of age is not recommended due to the lack of sufficient data on the safety and efficacy of the drug. The product contains polypropylene, which can cause skin irritation and butylhydroxytoluene, which can cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis) or irritation of eyes and mucous membranes.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation can be used in the first and second trimester of pregnancy only after considering whether the potential benefits of its use outweigh the risks. Diclofenac is contraindicated in the third trimester of pregnancy (in the fetus it can cause premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and pulmonary hypertension, and in the mother may suppress the uterine contractile function). In the case of short-term use, it is not necessary to stop breastfeeding, as no adverse effects have been observed in the child. The preparation should not be applied to the breast area.
Side effects:
Common: local skin reactions (redness, burning, itching, swelling, rash, eczema, flaking of the skin). Uncommon: general allergic reactions or local allergic reactions (contact dermatitis). There have been isolated cases of generalized skin rash, allergic reactions such as swelling, and anaphylactic reactions, hypersensitivity to light.
Dosage:
For use on the skin. In adults, a single patch should be applied to the painful area twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. You can use no more than 2 medicated patches per day, even if the injuries occur in several places. Do not use the patches for more than one painful place at the same time. Do not slice the patch into parts. It should not be used for more than 7 days.
