Ointment: adjuvant in the case of mild and moderately severe forms of atopic dermatitis (neurodermatitis) in the subacute to chronic phase. Cream: symptomatic treatment of mild forms of acute contact eczema.
Composition:
100 g Ointment contains 0.815 g of unsaturated fatty acids (C.18: 2), furthermore the drug contains cetostearyl alcohol, refined and hardened peanut oil and lanolin. 100 g of cream contains 0.5 g of unsaturated fatty acids (C.18: 2), furthermore the drug contains ethyl parahydroxybenzoate and methyl parahydroxybenzoate.
Action:
C18: 2 fatty acids belong to the group of octadecadienoic acids (double-unsaturated C18 fatty acids). When used topically, C18: 2 fatty acids act locally anti-inflammatory in pharmacological models (trichlorethylene inhibition test, sodium lauryl sulfate contact edema) and exert a positive effect on the epidermis and epidermal regeneration.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
Color: due to the content of cetostearyl alcohol and lanolin, local skin reactions may occur, including contact dermatitis (lanolin is contaminated with butylhydroxytoluene, which may also cause irritation to eyes and mucous membranes). The product contains peanut oil (from peanuts); do not use the drug if you are allergic to peanut or soya. In rare cases, peanut oil can cause severe allergic reactions. The tensile strength and effectiveness of condoms decreases when the preparation is used in the anus and genital area. Cream: Due to the content of ethyl parahydroxybenzoate and methyl parahydroxybenzoate, allergic reactions may occur, including delayed (late-type) allergic reactions.
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no special restrictions on the use during pregnancy. During breastfeeding, the preparation should not be used in the breast area due to the infant's risk of breast-feeding during breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Ointment. Common: local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis), with redness and prickles or pruritus of the skin. Rarely: the peanut oil contained in the preparation may cause severe allergic reactions. Not known: skin swelling. Cream: hypersensitivity reactions were rare, including allergic contact dermatitis. It is also possible to experience allergic, delayed reactions or irritation of the epidermis (eg burning, redness).
Dosage:
Externally, on the skin. The product should be applied evenly on dry skin several times a day as needed. It is usually sufficient to use the preparation twice a day. Use until skin condition improves and / or according to the doctor's advice (the drug is usually well tolerated for up to 4 weeks).
