Superficial mycoses and superficial bacterial skin infections.
Composition:
1 g of liquid contains 40 mg of phenol, 80 mg of resorcinol and 8 mg of boric acid.
Action:
A combined preparation that has a disinfecting, fungicidal, anti-inflammatory and exfoliating effect. Phenol has a fungicidal and bactericidal effect (on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria, viruses and some fungi). Boric acid is weakly bacteriostatic and fungistatic (Candida albicans, Candida krusei). Resorcinol has a weakly disinfecting and exfoliating effect, it also has a bactericidal and astringent effect. The dye (fuchsine) contained in the preparation helps to visualize the application site, it also enhances fungicidal and bactericidal activity. Boric acid does not penetrate through intact skin, it is absorbed by damaged skin, wounds and mucous membranes. The phenol is absorbed through the skin and mucous membranes, it quickly distributes to all tissues. Resorcinol is absorbed from the surface of the skin and the area of ulceration.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. Newborns, infants and children <3 years.
Precautions:
Due to the content of boric acid, do not use on long-term and large areas of the skin, as well as skin areas deprived of the epidermis, on the skin with inflammatory changes, especially in young children. Due to the phenol content, do not use occlusive dressings and bandages. Do not use the preparation in case of visible turbidity and precipitation (possibility of methemoglobinemia after application of the preparation that has been broken down).
Pregnancy and lactation:
Do not use during pregnancy unless it is necessary, after considering the benefits and risks. The safety of use in breastfeeding women has not been established.
Side effects:
Rare: skin irritation.
Dosage:
Outwardly. Adults: lubricate or brush 2-3 times daily affected lesions. Children> 3 years and adolescents: change the skin once a day. The treatment time should not be longer than 7 days.
