Composition:
1 tabl forte contains 600 mg diosmin. 1 tabl max contains 1000 mg of micronized diosmin.
Action:
Diosmin increases venous tension and protects against vessels. At the level of venous vessels it reduces the extensibility of veins and venous stasis. At the level of the microcirculation it decreases capillary permeability. It increases the strength of the capillary system especially in patients with increased brittleness of the vessels. After oral administration, diosmin is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and in metabolized form it is mainly excreted in the faeces and urine (14%).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to diosmin or other components of the preparation.
Precautions:
Treatment of symptoms associated with varicose veins should be short-lived, and with persistent ailments proctoological tests should be performed and appropriate treatment should be selected.
Pregnancy and lactation:
In case of extreme necessity, the drug may be used during pregnancy (in animal studies no harmful effects on the course of pregnancy and delivery and fetal development were found). Do not use when breastfeeding, due to the lack of data on the penetration of the drug into breast milk.
Side effects:
Rare: diarrhea, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, malaise. In addition, rash, pruritus and urticaria were observed.
Dosage:
Orally. Usually 1 tabl is used forte or 1 tabl. max. once a day, during a meal. Exacerbation of ailments afflicting the haemorrhoids: 5 tablets forte or 3 tabl. max. daily for 4 days, then 3 tables. forte or 2 tabl. max daily for the Next 3 days. The max tablet (1000 mg) has a dividing groove that allows the tablet to be crushed, making it easier to swallow; the groove does not allow dividing into equal doses.
