Topical application to the skin in case of: blunt injuries with or without haematomas, superficial phlebitis, which can not be treated with a pressure dressing.
Composition:
100 g Ointment or gel contains 300 mg mucopolysaccharide polysulphate - equivalent to 25,000 units (units determined by the partial activation of the APTT activated thromboplastin time).
Action:
The product has a local anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic activity. It has antithrombotic properties and also accelerates the absorption of subcutaneous hematomas. After topical application of the preparation, the active substances penetrate into superficial and deep tissues, exerting a healing effect.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Do not use the gel on open wounds and damaged skin.
Precautions:
Cetostearyl alcohol and mistic alcohol contained in the ointment may cause skin irritation. The polypropylene glycol contained in the gel may also cause skin irritation. Avoid contact of the preparation with eyes, mucous membranes, open wounds, as well as damaged skin.
Pregnancy and lactation:
No known harmful effects of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects:
Very rare: local hypersensitivity reactions, such as reddening of the skin, which usually disappear quickly after discontinuation of the preparation. The methyl and propyl 4- hydroxybenzoate contained in the ointment may cause allergic reactions.
Dosage:
Apply 3-5 cm of ointment or gel to the affected areas, lightly massaging, 2 to 3 times a day or more often if necessary. The ointment can also be used under the dressing. In the case of blunt injuries, the treatment usually lasts up to 10 days, and in the case of superficial veins, from 1 to 2 weeks. Hirudoid can also be used for phono- and ionophoresis. During iontophoresis, the gel is fed to the cathode. The first-line treatment for superficial arthritis of the lower limbs is the use of a pressure dressing.
