Pain and itching around the anus, inflammation of the mucous membrane of the rectum, thrombophlebitis of hemorrhoids, alleviation of anal pruritus for other reasons, and adjuvant treatment after surgical procedures of perirectal fistulas and haemorrhoid nodules.
Composition:
1 g Ointment contains 10 mg ruscogenin and 10 mg tetracaine hydrochloride. 1 suppository (2 g) contains 25 mg ruscogenin and 25 mg tetracaine hydrochloride.
Action:
The product has a local anti-inflammatory, anti-swelling, sealing the blood vessels and anesthetics. The action of the preparation corresponds to ruscogenins - natural saponins obtained from the rhizomes of the ridgeline and for its anesthetic properties - tetracaine hydrochloride. Tetracaine hydrochloride is well absorbed from mucous membranes, approximately 76% bound to blood proteins, is metabolised in the liver to paraaminobenzoic acid and excreted mainly as metabolites through the kidneys.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
In the event that it becomes more pruritic or painful after using the product, treatment should be discontinued. Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiac dysfunction and hypotension. Cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, contained in ointments in hypersensitive patients may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions (possible late-type reactions).
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no studies on the safety of use during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Extracts from barbatus may exacerbate uterine contractions.
Side effects:
Occasionally, at the beginning of the treatment the severity of burning around the anus and loose stools may occur.
Dosage:
Suppositories: rectally 1 suppository 1-2 times a day. Ointment: lubricate the anal area 2-3 times a day. A single treatment should not exceed 2 weeks. Suppositories should be used after defecation.
