1 ml of solution contains 20 mg of disodium cromoglycate.
Action:
Antiallergic drug for topical use. It stabilizes the mast cell membrane subjected to antigens and thus prevents their degranulation and the release of chemical mediators (histamine, kinins, prostaglandins, drug-resistant). Sodium cromoglycate is also a Calcium antagonist. It blocks the IgE receptor connected to the calcium channel and thereby blocks the flow of calcium into the cell - as a result, mast cell degranulation is slowed down. After administration to the conjunctival sac, sodium cromoglycate is almost not absorbed systemically (about 0.03%).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Precautions:
The safety of using the drug in children under 4 years has not been determined.
Pregnancy and lactation:
After long-term use, no teratogenic effects were observed. Nevertheless, the benefits and risks of using the medicine in the first and subsequent trimesters of pregnancy and breastfeeding should be carefully considered.
Side effects:
In rare cases transient eye burning, feeling of a foreign body in the eye, congestion and swelling of the conjunctiva may occur. These symptoms usually disappear spontaneously.
Dosage:
Adults, adolescents and children: 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 4 times a day. Treatment with the product should not be interrupted after the symptoms have resolved, they should be continued until the contact with the allergen ceases, eg pollen, dust.
