Inflammation of the uveitis. Keratitis. Allergic conjunctivitis and eyelid margins.
Composition:
1 g of Ointment contains 1 mg of fludrocortisone acetate.
Action:
Fluorored Hydrocortisone derivative in the form of a topical formulation. Fludrocortisone applied topically to the conjunctival sac is highly anti-inflammatory, reduces allergic reaction, has anti-itching and anti-swelling properties. It inhibits the production of exudative fluid in inflammations of the anterior segment of the eye and after corneal and scleral injuries. After topical application, fludrocortisone only penetrates into the systemic circulation to a small extent.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Viral, bacterial, fungal and tuberculous diseases of the eyes and eyelids. Glaucoma. Corneal epithelial defects. Purulent states. Unhealed wounds.
Precautions:
The preparation contains benzalkonium chloride, which may cause eye irritation; It also contains lanolin, which may cause local skin reactions (eg contact dermatitis).
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy, apply only if the benefits for the mother outweigh the threat to the fetus. Use with caution when breastfeeding.
Side effects:
The following may occur: transient burning, pruritus of the eye area, tearing, redness of the conjunctiva and temporary visual disturbances (which disappear a few minutes after applying the preparation). Fludrocortisone used in conditions where the continuity of the corneal epithelium has occurred may delay healing and promote infection of the deeper parts of the eye. Long-term use may lead to bacterial, fungal and viral infections, increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma (with possible damage to the optic nerve) and cataracts.
Dosage:
A small amount of ointment squeezed directly from the tube into the conjunctival sac 2-3 times a day. It is not recommended to use for more than 2 weeks.
