Treatment of allergic eye diseases, such as: seasonal and all-season allergic conjunctivitis, spring keratoconjunctivitis, allergic (atopic) keratitis. Allergy associated with the use of contact lenses.
Composition:
1 ml of solution contains 40 mg of disodium cromoglycate. The drug contains benzalkonium chloride.
Action:
Antiallergic drug for topical use. It stabilizes the cell membrane of mast cells, preventing their degranulation, and thus the release of histamine and other mediators of allergic reactions. It has no vasoconstriction, antihistamine or bronchodilatory effect. The disodium cromoglycate given to the conjunctival sac is absorbed only in 0.03%.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to disodium cromoglycate or any of the excipients.
Precautions:
Do not use soft contact lenses while using the drug because of the benzalkonium chloride content (they can be put on again at least 15 minutes after instillation). The safety of the preparation in children under 4 years has not been established.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Use cautiously during pregnancy. Take special care with the medicine during breast-feeding. A danger to a breastfed child can not be excluded. A decision should be made whether to stop breast-feeding or discontinue the drug taking into account the benefits of breastfeeding for the child and the benefits of treatment for the mother.
Side effects:
Common: discomfort in the eye. Uncommon: eye leakage, ocular pruritus, impaired sensation within the eye, increased tearing, congestion of the eye. Not known: eye irritation.
Dosage:
Dospojówkowo. Usually 1-2 drops into each eye at regular intervals, 4-6 times a day. Symptomatic response to treatment usually occurs after a few days (sometimes up to 6 weeks).Way of giving. In order to properly administer the medicine, the eyelid should be slightly pulled down and the specimen should be instilled into the conjunctival sac. Eye drops should be administered under appropriate hygiene conditions. If other topical preparations are used locally, at least 5 minutes should be allowed between the administrations of the Next drugs. Eye Ointment should be used at the end.
