Post-operative inflammation after cataract surgery and other surgical procedures. Counteracting symptoms of eye pain and photophobia. Inhibition of miosis during cataract surgery. Prophylaxis of cystoid macular edema after cataract surgery with lens implantation.
Composition:
1 ml of solution contains 1 mg of Diclofenac sodium. The solution contains benzalkonium chloride.
Action:
A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (aminophenylacetic acid derivative) with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. It inhibits miosis during cataract surgery, reduces inflammation and pain associated with corneal epithelium damage after some surgical procedures. Diclofenac quickly penetrates into the anterior chamber of the eye. Administered in a dose of 1 mg / ml does not penetrate into the systemic circulation.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Hypersensitivity to Acetylsalicylic acid or other substances inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, manifested by asthma, urticaria or rhinitis. In patients with hypersensitivity to Acetylsalicylic acid, hypersensitivity to phenylacetic acid and other NSAIDs (hypersensitivity to the cross) is possible. Therefore, special care should be taken if the patient is hypersensitive to one of the above-mentioned medicines.
Precautions:
Do not administer the drug as subconjunctival injections or directly into the anterior chamber of the eye. Like other NSAIDs, the preparation may mask the signs and symptoms of infection. In patients taking drugs that prolong bleeding time or in patients with impaired hemostasis in interviews, after using Diclofenac, there is a potential for an increase in blood coagulation disorders. Due to the content of benzalkonium chloride, the drug may cause eye irritation. Avoid contact with soft contact lenses. Before taking the medicine, remove the contact lenses and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them on again. Benzalkonium chloride changes the color of contact lenses. There are no data on the efficacy and safety of the preparation in children.
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no clinical trials on the safety of use during pregnancy. The drug should not be used in the third trimester of pregnancy due to the possibility of premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in the fetus and reduction of uterine contractions. Dikolfenac passes into breast milk in trace amounts that should not cause side effects in the child.
Side effects:
Transient burning sensation with mild to moderate severity is most common. Rare: pruritus, redness of the eyes, blurred vision (immediately after instillation of the eyes), shortness of breath, asthma exacerbation and corneal ulceration or thinning (especially after using corticosteroids, in case of infection or rheumatoid arthritis). After prolonged use, punctate keratitis and corneal epithelial injury may occur.
Dosage:
Dospojówkowo. Adults. Eye surgery and its complications: 1 drop before surgery 5 times in 3 hours; after surgery 1 drop 3 times on the day of surgery, and in the Next days 1 drop 3-5 times a day, as long as necessary.
