indications:
Symptomatic treatment of complaints associated with dry eye syndrome. The drug relieves the feeling of dryness caused by, for example, contact lenses, cigarette smoke, wind, long computer work or other irritations.
Composition:
1 ml drops contains 50 mg of polyvidone. The drug contains benzalkonium chloride.
Action:
Polyvidone as a lubricant causes the formation of a well-fitting, protective film on the surface of the eye, replacing tears. Due to the relatively large size of the povidone molecule, its penetration through the cornea is unlikely.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, including benzalkonium chloride.
Precautions:
No studies on use in children have been performed. The preparation contains benzalkonium chloride, which may cause eye irritation and discoloration of soft contact lenses. Before using the drug the lens should be removed and put on again no sooner than after at least 30 min.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Due to lack of data, use in pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended unless strictly necessary.
Side effects:
Common: mild, transient burning sensation or eyelid stickiness. Very rare: eye irritation, hypersensitivity reactions. Blurred vision may also occur.
Dosage:
1 drop into the conjunctival sac 4 times a day or depending on the severity of symptoms. If other ophthalmic medications are used, the preparation should be instilled as the last one, at least 5 minutes apart from the previous preparation.
