Treatment of ocular signs and symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
Composition:
1 ml of solution contains 1 mg of olopatadine in the form of hydrochloride. The solution contains benzalkonium chloride (0.1 mg / ml).
Action:
A strong and selective antiallergic / antihistamine drug. Olopatadine antagonizes the action of histamine and prevents the histamine-induced production of cytokines by human conjunctival epithelial cells. Affects the conjunctival mast cells by inhibiting the production of inflammation mediators. In patients with patent nasal-lachrymal tract local application to the eye reduces the severity of the subjective and subjective symptoms of the nose, which often coexist with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. Olopatadine does not cause clinically significant changes in pupil diameter.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Precautions:
The preparation contains benzalkonium chloride, which may cause eye irritation and punctate and / or toxic ulcerative corneal defects - careful monitoring of patients who frequently or prolonged use of the preparation and patients with dry eye or disease in which the corneal function is impaired.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The use of olopatadine in pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential not using contraception is not recommended. Do not use the product during breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Common: headache, disturbed taste, eye pain, eye irritation, dry eye, unusual sensations in the eyes, dry nose, tiredness. Uncommon: dizziness, decreased sense of touch, rhinitis, corneal erosion, corneal epithelium abnormalities, corneal epithelial disorder, point keratitis, keratitis, corneal spots, discharge from the eye, photophobia, blurred vision, reduced visual acuity, blepharospasm, eye discomfort, ocular pruritus, conjunctival keratosis, feeling of a foreign body in the eyes, increased tearing, redness of the eyelids, eyelid edema, eyelid disease, conjunctival hyperaemia, contact dermatitis, burning sensation of the skin, dry skin. Not known: hypersensitivity, swollen face, drowsiness, corneal edema, swelling of the eye, swollen eye, conjunctivitis, mydriasis, blurred vision, scabbing on the eyelid edges, shortness of breath, sinusitis, nausea, vomiting, dermatitis, erythema, muscle weakness, bad mood. In patients with severely damaged cornea, corneal calcification associated with the use of phosphate-containing eye drops has been very rarely observed.
Dosage:
Dospojówkowo. Adults and children from 3 years: 1 drop to the affected eye (eyes) 2 times a day (with a gap of 8 hours between each dose). Treatment can be continued for up to 4 months.Special groups of patients. No dosage adjustment is required in elderly patients or patients with renal or hepatic impairment. The safety and efficacy of the preparation in children under the age of 3 have not been established.Way of giving. In case of concomitant use of other medicines administered to the eye, a 5-minute interval should be allowed between administration of the Next preparations. Eye Ointment should be used at the end.
