Action:

It inhibits both early and late allergic reactions. After application to the conjunctival sac, it is absorbed in about 0.03%. Traces (less than 0.01%) penetrate into the aqueous humor of the eye. Sodium cromoglycate binds 57% of plasma proteins. T0,5 is 1.5 hours. It is not metabolised in the body. It is excreted unchanged in urine and bile.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
The drops contain benzalkonium chloride, which may cause eye irritation and discoloration of contact lenses; It is recommended to remove contact lenses before instilling the product and re-inserting them after at least 15 minutes. after administration. Avoid contact of the preparation with soft contact lenses.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation should be used during pregnancy only if clearly necessary. During the first trimester, use particularly carefully. It is not known whether sodium kromoglycan is excreted in human milk, but this is unlikely.
Side effects:
Occasionally transient burning or conjunctival stinging may occur. Rarely - other signs of local irritation. In some patients with significant corneal damage, cases of corneal calcification associated with the use of eye drops containing phosphates have been reported very rarely.
Dosage:
Locally: 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac 4 times a day at regular intervals. The preparation should be started in the asymptomatic period before contact with the allergen and continue throughout the season. It is necessary to apply the preparation systemically for a long time. If you miss a dose, it should be instilled as soon as possible. Then return to regular preparation.
