Non-infectious, allergic conjunctivitis. Spring conjunctivitis. Non-infectious keratitis. Inflammation of the inner membrane of the eye, iris, ciliary body.
Composition:
1 ml of eye suspension contains 5 mg of Prednisolone acetate.
Action:
Glucocorticosteroid for topical use with anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antipruritic and anti-exfoliant.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to prednisolone acetate or other ingredients of the preparation. Bacterial, viral or fungal eye infection. Cuttings and corneal ulcers. Glaucoma with a narrow or wide angle of perception. Increased intraocular pressure after application (reaction to a corticosteroid). Tuberculous infections.
Precautions:
Carefully used in patients with diabetes after previous viral infectionsherpes simplex and during the treatment of non-infectious inflammation (there is a risk of infection during the use of the preparation). After using corticosteroids, purulent ocular infections may become manifest and rapidly increase. Caution should be exercised in patients with an increased family history of intraocular pressure (there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure and clouding of the lens). Preparations containing Cortisone, especially those used for prolonged and high concentrations, delay wound healing.
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy, use only if the anticipated benefits to the mother outweigh the potential risk to the fetus; the lowest therapeutic doses should be used and long-term use should be avoided. Prednisolone acetate is excreted in human milk - if it is necessary to use higher doses of the preparation or for a longer period, breast-feeding should be discontinued.
Side effects:
Common: fungal infections of the cornea. Uncommon: increased intraocular pressure (after prolonged use), keratitis, conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, mydriasis, transient loss of accommodation, upper eyelid drooping. Isolated cases: cataracts, corneal softening (after long-term use). Immediate instillation may occur immediately after instillation: burning, stinging, eye irritation, blurred vision, foreign body sensation, eye sensitivity, allergic reactions. In addition, you may experience: iritis, perforation when thinning the cornea caused by the disease (after prolonged use), worsening or the occurrence of viral infections (includingherpes simplex). After long-term use, systemic side effects (especially in children) may occur.
Dosage:
Locally. Adults: usually 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac several times a day. If no improvement occurs after 2 days of treatment, the patient's condition should be re-evaluated.
