Composition:
1 g drops contain 0.2 g of salicylate choline.
Action:
Derivative of salicylic acid, which after administration to the ear has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It works by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase - an enzyme responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. It also inhibits the synthesis of thromboxane and prostacyclin. Glycerin contained in the preparation softens wax, which facilitates its removal. After topical administration, the preparation does not exert systemic effects.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to choline salicylate, other salicylates and other components of the preparation. Perforation of the eardrum.
Precautions:
There are no data on the ototoxicity of the preparation.
Pregnancy and lactation:
It must not be used during pregnancy unless clearly necessary. The preparation is not recommended in breast-feeding women.
Side effects:
Not known: local hypersensitivity reactions (redness and pruritus); people with perforation of the eardrum may be damaged if they use the product.
Dosage:
Adults.Inflammation of the middle ear, tympanic membrane and external auditory canal: usually 3-4 drops to the external auditory canal 3-4 times a day.In order to soften the hardened cerumen before it is removed from the ear: usually 3-4 drops into the external auditory canal twice daily for 4 days. Method of administration: instillation should be carried out on the patient lying on his side, with the ear turned up. After instillation, the patient should remain in this position for a few minutes. There is no need to change the dosage in the elderly and people with impaired liver and kidney function.
