indications:
Fever in the course of infectious diseases. Pains of various origins: painful teething, postoperative and post-traumatic pain.
Composition:
1 ml drops contain 100 mg paracetamol. 5 ml of the suspension contains 160 mg of paracetamol.
Action:
A drug with analgesic and antipyretic effect. The mechanism of action of Paracetamol is the inhibition of arachidonic acid cyclooxygenase activity at o.u.n. Well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, the maximum concentration in the blood reaches after about 1 hour, penetrates into body fluids and internal organs, in about 25-50% bound to plasma proteins. T0,5 is 2-4 h. It is metabolized in the liver, inducing microsomal enzymes there. It is excreted in the urine in the form of glucuronides and sulphates and after conjugation with cysteine. In patients with renal failure, conjugated paracetamol accumulates in the blood.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Severe hepatic or renal failure, G-6-PD deficiency and methemoglobin reductase. The use of MAO inhibitors and up to 2 weeks after their discontinuation. Due to the sorbitol content, do not use in patients with fructose intolerance. Do not use the preparation in children under 3 months old.
Precautions:
The use of the preparation by patients with liver failure and starved people poses a risk of liver damage. Use with caution in bronchial asthma and liver or kidney failure. Simultaneous alcohol consumption increases the risk of hepatotoxicity.
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, use only if definitely needed.
Side effects:
Hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, erythema, rash, pigmented purpura, anaphylactic shock), gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders) may occur. In isolated cases haematological abnormalities such as thrombocytopenia and agranulocytosis have been observed. When used in large doses or for long periods of time, it may cause acute liver failure.
Dosage:
Orally. Children over 3 months: usually 10-15 mg / kg every 4 hours, up to 4 times a day. Drops can be served with milk or juice.
