Fever and pain related to colds and flu. Light and moderate pains (toothache, neuralgia, pain in the joints and muscles, headaches).
Composition:
1 tabl Effervescent contains 300 mg of Acetylsalicylic acid and 100 mg of Calcium in the form of lactogluconate. 1 tabl contains 239 mg of sodium.
Action:
Acetylsalicylic acid has antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It is an inhibitor of arachidonic acid cyclooxygenase, responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. It inhibits platelet aggregation by blocking the release of adenosine diphosphoric acid and thromboxane A from the platelets2. Calcium reduces the permeability of blood vessel walls, acts as an anti-exudative, anti-oedematous, anti-inflammatory and antiallergic. Acetylsalicylic acid is absorbed unchanged from the stomach and small intestine, binding 70-90% with plasma albumin. T0,5 is 2-4 h, and at higher doses 15-20 h. It is excreted in the urine in the form of metabolites and approx. 10% in the unchanged form.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Acetylsalicylic acid, other salicylates, calcium or any of the other components of the drug. Active peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Asthma coexisting with nasal polyps (caused or aggravated by acetylsalicylic acid). Hemorrhagic diathesis and blood coagulation disorders, use of anticoagulants. Disturbances in acid-base balance (eg in diabetes, uremia, tetany). Significantly increased levels of calcium in the blood. Severe renal or hepatic failure. Severe heart failure. Third trimester of pregnancy. Do not give children under 12 years.
Precautions:
Particularly cautiously used in the case of: hypersensitivity to other NSAIDs, allergic diseases (bronchial asthma, hay fever), haemorrhagic bleeding, increased menstrual bleeding, before surgery (not taking the drug for at least 5 days), gout, gastric ulcer or duodenal tract, as well as after gastrointestinal bleeding, concomitant treatment with anticoagulants, renal or hepatic failure, use of an intrauterine contraceptive device, hypertension, heart failure, elderly patients and patients on a low-fat diet. Drinking alcohol while using acetylsalicylic acid may increase gastrointestinal irritation. The use of acetylsalicylic acid in children under 12 years of infection with chickenpox or influenza virus may cause Reye's syndrome.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The components of the drug penetrate the placenta barrier into fetal tissues. The preparation should not be used during pregnancy. It should not be used in the third trimester of pregnancy, as the drug may cause fetal malformations and complications during delivery. It penetrates breast milk in small amounts. In case of emergency use, it is not necessary to stop breastfeeding. However, if you regularly take high doses of acetylsalicylic acid, breast-feeding should be stopped earlier. Drugs that inhibit prostaglandin synthesis may cause female fertility disorders by affecting ovulation, this effect is transient and disappears after treatment.
Side effects:
Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, exacerbation or recurrence of peptic ulceration, erosion of the mucous membrane, gastrointestinal bleeding, dizziness, excessive sweating, tinnitus, blood coagulation disorders, increased menstrual bleeding, skin changes may occur in hypersensitive individuals ( erythema, urticaria), bronchial asthma or shortness of breath in adults, edema, hypertension and heart failure.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 tabl. 4 times a day; the maximum daily dose is 10 tabl. Elderly patients (> 65 years old): 1-2 tabl. Three times a day; the maximum daily dose is 6 tablets The tablet dissolve in 1/2 cup of boiled, lukewarm water, mix and drink.
