Short-term symptomatic treatment of influenza or cold with fevers, chills, headache, sore throat, runny nose, sinusitis.
Composition:
1 sachet contains: 1000 mg of Paracetamol, 10 mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride and 40 mg of vitamin C. Lemon flavored preparation.
Action:
A preparation that alleviates the symptoms of colds and flu, using the synergistic effect of individual ingredients. Paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect, mainly by inhibiting the activity of prostaglandin cyclooxygenase at o.u.n. Well absorbed from the digestive tract, the maximum concentration in the blood reaches after about 30-60 min. T0,5 is 3-4 hours. It is metabolized in the liver; it is excreted in the urine in the form of glucuronides, sulphates and after conjugation with cysteine. Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic amine that acts mainly on the α receptors, with virtually no effect on the heart. It causes narrowing of peripheral blood vessels, reduction of congestion and edema of the mucous membranes, opening of the nasal passages with a decrease of secretion. It is unevenly absorbed from the digestive tract and pre-metabolized by monoamine oxidase inhibitors in the intestines and liver. It is excreted in the urine almost completely in the form of sulphates. Vitamin C supplements the deficiency of this vitamin in the body, often occurring in the course of cold diseases. It is quickly absorbed from the digestive tract and distributed to the tissues. Excess vitamin C, exceeding the body's need, is excreted in the urine in the form of metabolites.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Hepatic failure or severe renal failure, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, heart disease. Taking tricyclic antidepressants, beta-blockers, taking MAO inhibitors and 2 weeks after their use.
Precautions:
Do not use other flu medicines, colds, nasal congestion drugs or other preparations containing paracetamol. Use with caution in hepatic impairment.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Use only in case of extreme necessity. Do not use the drug during breastfeeding without a doctor's recommendation.
Side effects:
Skin rash and other allergic reactions associated with taking acetaminophen may occur. Sympathomimetic amine may cause high blood pressure with accompanying pain and dizziness, vomiting, diarrhea, insomnia and in rare cases palpitations, however, information on the occurrence of side effects after using phenylephrine as prescribed is limited.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 sachet every 4-6 hours. Do not use more than 4 sachets daily. The preparation should not be used for more than 7 days without consulting a physician. The powder should be dissolved in hot water and drunk.
