Treatment of symptoms of influenza and cold (headache, throat, sinuses, chills, obstruction of the nasal passages).
Composition:
1 sachet contains: 750 mg of Paracetamol, 10 mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride, 60 mg of vitamin C. The preparation is available in two flavors: lemon and black currant.
Action:
The preparation combines the action of individual ingredients. Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic effects. The mechanism of action is based on inhibition of prostaglandin cyclooxygenase activity at o.u.n. and regulating the functions of the thermoregulatory center in the hypothalamus. It is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Metabolized in the liver, excreted by the kidneys. Phenylephrine acts on α-adrenergic receptors, causing narrowing of the blood vessels and reduction of nasal edema. The addition of vitamin C serves to supplement the shortages that often appear in the course of cold diseases.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Severe hepatic and renal failure, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, hypertension, aneurysms, heart disease, β-blockers, tripeptide antidepressants, MAO inhibitors in the last 2 weeks, I trimester of pregnancy, elevated intraocular pressure, prostatic hypertrophy, deficiency G-6-PD, alcoholism. Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
Precautions:
Use with caution in the case of: liver and kidney diseases, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, simultaneous treatment with Metoclopramide and Domperidone (treatment of nausea and vomiting) or cholestyramine (high blood pressure).
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation is contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy. It can be used in the second and third trimester of pregnancy and breastfeeding only if definitely needed.
Side effects:
Paracetamol rarely causes hypersensitivity reactions (rash, pruritus, urticaria, erythema), gastrointestinal disturbances (epigastric burning, nausea, vomiting). Occasional: thrombocytopenia, methemoglobinemia, agranulocytosis. Phenylephrine can cause nausea, headache and dizziness, a small rise in blood pressure, and very rarely palpitations. Symptoms are usually transient.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 sachet up to 4 times a day. Dissolve the contents of the sachet in a glass of hot water.
