indications:
Pain of weak or medium intensity, e.g. headache, muscles, joints and others. Fever in the course of colds, viral infections and other diseases.
Composition:
1 tabl contains 300 mg of Acetylsalicylic acid and 50 mg of caffeine.
Action:
Preparation with combined action of ingredients. Acetylsalicylic acid has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis and inhibits platelet aggregation. Absorbed from the digestive tract in 80-100%, reaching a maximum concentration after 1-3 hours. Rapidly and extensively penetrates into tissues and body fluids. The degree of protein binding depends on the concentration of albumin in the blood. T0,5 is 15-20 minutes. Acetylsalicylic acid does not accumulate in the serum after repeated administration. Only 1% of the oral dose is excreted in the urine unchanged, the remainder is excreted by the kidneys in the form of salicylates and their metabolites. In patients with normal renal function 80-100% of a single dose is eliminated within 24-72 h. Caffeine is an analiptic, stimulates the respiratory and vasomotor center and enhances the analgesic effect of acetylsalicylic acid. It is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaching a maximum concentration after 1-2 h. It easily penetrates all tissues, including breast milk and cerebrospinal fluid, and crosses the border of the placenta. The degree of binding to serum proteins is 17%. Caffeine metabolism occurs in the liver, excreted in the urine in unchanged form and in the form of metabolites. T0,5 is 3 hours.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Hypersensitivity to other NSAIDs, with bronchospasm, hay fever, shock. Bronchial asthma, chronic respiratory diseases, hay fever or nasal mucosa edema. Active gastric and / or duodenal ulcer, inflammation or gastrointestinal bleeding. Severe hepatic or renal failure. Severe heart failure. Blood clotting disorders and taking anticoagulants. Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Taking Methotrexate at doses of 15 mg per week or more (due to myelotoxicity). Age below 12 years, especially in the course of viral infections (risk of Reye's syndrome). Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Precautions:
Due to the risk of increased hypoglycaemic effect, it should not be used in patients taking oral anti-diabetic medicines from the sulphonylurea group. Use with caution in patients taking anti-kidney medication, with renal impairment, a history of hypoproterombinemia, vitamin K deficiency, thrombocytopenia, gout, hypertension, heart failure, and in cases of uterine haemorrhage, excessive menstrual bleeding and the use of an IUS. During long-term treatment with high-dose Acetylsalicylic acid, renal function and hematocrit should be checked periodically due to the risk of renal dysfunction and iron deficiency anemia. Patients with coexisting liver injury, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus should undergo liver function tests. Caution should be exercised when co-administered with methotrexate at doses of <15mg / week due to the increase of its toxic effect on the bone marrow. Alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment because of the risk of gastrointestinal side effects. Due to the altered pharmacokinetics and more frequent occurrence of gastric mucosal irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding, elderly patients should be given increased intervals between consecutive doses. In women, a transient fertility disorder may occur, which disappears after therapy.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Do not use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side effects:
There are: hypertension and heart failure; thrombocytopenia, anemia due to gastrointestinal bleeding, haemolytic anemia in patients deficient in glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, eosinopenia, increased risk of bleeding, prolonged bleeding time and prothrombin time; blurred vision; tinnitus, reversible hearing loss; indigestion, heartburn, feeling of fullness in the epigastrium, nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, damage to the gastric mucosa, ulcer disease, perforations; proteinuria, presence of leucocytes and erythrocytes in the urine, nephropathy with renal papillary necrosis, interstitial nephritis, in case of overdose: significant reduction in creatinine clearance or acute renal tubule necrosis with impaired renal function; skin eruptions, rare blisters or purpura; focal liver cell necrosis, tenderness and hepatomegaly, especially in patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatic fever or a history of liver disease, transient elevations of serum transaminases and alkaline phosphatase, and bilirubin; non-cardiac lung edema (mainly in chronic or acute intoxication); fever; rash, urticaria, angioneurotic edema, bronchospasm, shock. Side effects caused by caffeine may include: headache, insomnia, inability to focus, hand tremors, disorders of the digestive system (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting). Caffeine can cause addiction. Taking the medicine at the lowest effective dose for the shortest period necessary to alleviate the symptoms reduces the risk of side effects.
Dosage:
Orally, with water during a meal. Adults and children> 12 years in pain and fever: 1-2 tabl. 3 times / day. The lowest effective dose should be used. Do not take more than 4 g acetylsalicylic acid daily.
