Pains of various origins (headaches, teeth, muscles, joints and bones, painful menstruation, after surgery or dental surgery, painful teething). Fever (eg in colds and flu conditions, after vaccination). Symptomatic treatment of flu-like conditions and colds.
Composition:
1 suppository contains 50 mg, 125 mg, 250 mg or 500 mg of paracetamol.
Action:
The drug with analgesic and antipyretic effect, mainly by inhibiting the activity of prostaglandin cyclooxygenase at o.u.n. Paracetamol undergoes tissue distribution. It passes through the placenta and into breast milk. When using therapeutic doses, paracetamol binds very little to blood proteins. The degree of protein binding increases with the concentration of the drug in the blood. It is metabolised mainly in the liver and excreted in the urine in the form of glucuronide or sulphate. Less than 5% of the drug is excreted unchanged.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or other components of the drug. Severe renal and / or liver failure. Alcoholic disease.
Precautions:
The drug should be used with caution in patients with renal and / or hepatic failure, deficient in glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, and in patients who are starved or regularly drink alcohol.
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy and during breastfeeding, the drug can be used in cases of extreme necessity.
Side effects:
Rarely: allergic reactions, mainly cutaneous (urticaria, erythema, pruritus, rash). Very rare: changes in the morphological picture of the blood (thrombocytopenia with symptoms of thrombocytopenic purpura) and with long-term use of paracetamol in high doses may increase the risk of renal or hepatic failure.
Dosage:
Rectally. 50 mg suppositories, infants: 1 suppository up to 3 times a day, not more than every 4 hours; in babies under 3 months Be careful. Suppositories 125 mg, children 2-6 age: 1 suppository up to 4 times a day, not more often than every 4 hours. Suppositories 250 mg, children 7-12 years old: 1 suppository up to 4 times a day, no more often than every 4 h. Suppositories 500 mg, adults and children> 12 years: 1-2 suppositories every 4-6 h; do not exceed the daily dose of 4 g.
