Fever; pains of various origins of weak or medium intensity (head, spine, rheumatism, muscle, teeth, menstrual).
Composition:
1 tabl contains 500 mg of paracetamol.
Action:
It works antipyretic and analgesic, mainly by inhibiting prostaglandin cyclooxygenase activity at o.u.n. It does not have anti-inflammatory activity and does not affect the function of platelets. After oral administration, it is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, reaching a maximum concentration in the blood after about 1 hour. It penetrates into body fluids and internal organs, ca. 25% bound to plasma proteins. T0,5 is 3-4 hours. It is metabolized in the liver, inducing microsomal enzymes there. It is excreted in the urine in the form of glucuronides, sulphates and after conjugation with cysteine.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the drug. Severe hepatic or renal failure, alcoholism; congenital G-6-PD deficiency and methemoglobin reductase, long-term starvation. Caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, bronchial asthma and allergy to acetylsalicylic acid.
Precautions:
Pregnancy and lactation:
There are no contraindications to the use of Paracetamol during pregnancy at therapeutic doses. In case of extreme necessity, paracetamol is one of the most commonly used analgesics in pregnant women. The drug in small amounts is excreted in breast milk. Available data suggest that paracetamol is safe for the child and can be used by the mother while breastfeeding.
Side effects:
There are single descriptions of changes in the morphological picture of blood after paracetamol (thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, methemoglobinemia), skin allergic reactions. Occasionally, gastrointestinal disorders may occur. When used in large doses or for long periods of time, it may impair liver or kidney function.
Dosage:
Oral: 1 tablet 2-6 times daily, no more frequently than every 4 hours. Do not exceed the dose of 4 g per day for emergency treatment and 2.6 g per day - in long-term. Do not take more than 3 days in children or 10 days in adults without consulting a doctor.
