Fever and pain associated with colds or flu, headaches, neuralgia.
Composition:
1 tabl It contains 300 mg of salicylamide, 100 mg of Ascorbic acid, 5 mg of rutoside. The product contains sucrose and quinoline yellow.
Action:
A preparation that alleviates the symptoms of colds and flu. Salicylamide has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects. The mechanism of action is the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis due to the inhibition of arachidonic acid cyclooxygenase. Quickly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Metabolism occurs in the liver and renal excretion. T0,5 is 1.2 hours. Rutoside strengthens the walls of the blood vessels, thus reducing their permeability and fragility. It also has anti-inflammatory, antiviral and immunostimulatory effects. It has a stabilizing effect on the effects of vit. C and increases the absorption of ascorbic acid. It is metabolised in the small intestine and the colon, and excreted in the urine in the form of metabolites and in the unchanged form of the faeces. Wit. C is involved in oxidation-reduction processes occurring in the body and in many metabolic processes. It has anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects, seals capillaries and accelerates blood clotting. It is necessary for the synthesis of collagen and intercellular substance. It is well absorbed after oral administration. Metamilised in the liver and excreted in the urine. It binds to proteins in about 25%. It passes through the placenta and into breast milk. Along with salicylamide it quickly penetrates into many tissues, ie muscles, liver and brain.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the preparation or NSAIDs. Asthma with nasal polyps (induced or exacerbated by acetylsalicylic acid). Active gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Disturbances in acid-base balance (diabetes, uremia, tetany). Blood coagulation disorders (haemophilia, thrombocytopenia). Genetically determined G-6-PD deficiency (risk of haemolysis after long-term oral ascorbic ingestion). A history of kidney stones (risk of developing urinary stones after using high doses of ascorbic acid). Hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia, excessive amount of uric acid in the blood or oxalate in the urine). Pregnancy and breast-feeding. Children under 16 years of age, except in rare diseases, i.e. Kawasaki disease, due to the risk of Reye's syndrome.
Precautions:
Use with caution in the case of bronchial asthma (risk of worsening asthma symptoms), liver or kidney failure, and patients who have had peptic ulcer disease and gastrointestinal bleeding. Due to the content of sucrose, do not use the preparation in patients with rare inherited disorders associated with fructose intolerance, malabsorption of glucose-galactose or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation should not be used during pregnancy and during breastfeeding, the safety of use during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established.
Side effects:
Rare: nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, burning sensation after sternum, lack of appetite, diarrhea, irritation of the gastric and duodenal mucosa (erosions and ulcerations), dry mouth, pain and dizziness, drowsiness, redness of the face, excessive sweating rash. There is a possibility of: angioedema, bronchospasm, rhinitis or shock. Ascorbic acid reduces the pH of the urine, which facilitates the precipitation of urate, cystine and oxalates.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults and youth over 16: 1-2 tabl. coated three times a day; take during a meal or drink a glass of water or milk.
