Onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and molds, without seizure of the nail matrix.
Composition:
1 ml contains 55.74 mg of hydrochloride amorolfine (equivalent to 50 mg amorolfine).
Action:
Antifungal medicine. The fungicidal and fungicidal activity of amorolfine is based on a change in the fungal cell membrane, primarily directed to sterol biosynthesis. The content of ergosterol is reduced, and at the same time, spatial, non-random sterols accumulate atypical. Amorolfine has a wide range of antifungal activity. It shows high activity against common or accidental factors causing onychomycosis: yeast (Candida albicans and other species of the genusCandida); dermatophytes (Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton interdigitale andTrichophyton mentagrophytes and other species of the genusTrichophyton, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum); molds (of the genusScopulariopsis); poorly sensitive molds (of the genusaspergillus, fusarium andMucorale); dermatiacea - "black mushrooms" (of the genusHendersonula, Alternaria andCladospirium). Amorolfine contained in the nail polish penetrates into the nail plate and penetrates through it. The systemic absorption of the active ingredient is very low with this method of administration. Even after long-term use of the preparation, there is no evidence of cumulative effects in the body.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. It must not be re-used in patients who have been hypersensitive to treatment.
Precautions:
Avoid lacquer contact with eyes, ears and mucous membranes. Patients with conditions predisposing to fungal nail infections (eg peripheral circulatory disorders, diabetes and immunosuppression), and patients with dystrophies of the nails and damaged nail plate should discuss the appropriate treatment with the doctor. The use of cosmetic nail varnish or artificial nails should be avoided during treatment. The drug is not indicated for use in children due to the lack of data on safety and efficacy.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Considering the low systemic absorption of amorolfine in the proposed clinical use, an adverse effect on the fetus is not expected, however, as a precautionary measure, it is recommended to avoid the use during pregnancy. The preparation can be used during breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Rarely: nail disorder, nail discoloration, nails fragility. Very rare: skin burning, contact dermatitis.
Dosage:
Nail polish should be applied to pathologically changed fingernails or toenails once a week. In some cases, it may be beneficial to use the app twice a week. The patient should use nail polish in the following way: 1. It is very important that before applying the nail spots (especially the nail surface), apply the attached nail file to the nail before applying. Then clean and degrease the nail surface with a cotton swab. Before applying the product again, the infected nails should be filed again, if necessary, and then cleaned with a cotton swab to remove any lacquer residues. Filters used for infected nails should not be used for healthy nails. 2. Using one of the supplied reusable applicators, apply the varnish evenly over the entire surface of the infected nails and leave to dry for 3-5 minutes. After use, the applicator should be cleaned using the same swab that you previously cleaned the nail with. In order to apply varnish on each treated nail, immerse the applicator in a bottle with varnish, without wiping the varnish on the neck of the bottle. Treatment should be continued without interruption until the nails are regenerated and the lesions are cured. The required frequency of use and duration of treatment depend mainly on the severity and location of the infection. Usually it lasts 6 months (for hand nails) and 9-12 months (for nails on the feet). It is recommended to evaluate the treatment progress at intervals of approximately 3 months. At the same time, the onset of athlete's foot should be treated with a suitable antifungal cream.
