Relief of skin allergy symptoms (such as: contact dermatitis, urticaria, pruritus) and cutaneous manifestations of angioneurotic edema (Quincke's edema). Relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as watery discharge from the nose, sneezing and tearing.
Composition:
1 tabl contains 1 mg of clemastine in the form of fumarate; Table. contain lactose. 10 ml of syrup contains 1 mg of clemastine in the form of fumarate.
Action:
An antihistaminic drug, a competitive antagonist of histamine H-receptors1 from the group of ethanolamine derivatives. It reduces the histamine-induced dilatation and increased capillary permeability leading to edema and inhibits the histamine smooth contraction of the capillaries, gastrointestinal tract and respiratory tract. Relieves the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, watery discharge from the nose, tearing) and skin allergies (urticaria, swelling, pruritus). Clemastine also has a cholinolytic effect and inhibits the activity o.u.n. They are quickly and well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (bioavailability of about 39%). The onset of its action occurs 1-2 h after oral administration and lasts 10-12 h, and sometimes even up to 24 h. The maximum concentration in the blood occurs after 2-5 h. It is metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine, mainly in the form of metabolites. T0,5 is about 21 hours.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to clemastine or to any of the excipients. Hypersensitivity to other compounds with a chemical structure similar to clemastine - from the group ethanolamine derivatives (e.g. diphenhydramine, chlorpheniramine). Concomitant use of MAO inhibitors. Do not use in children in the 1st year of
Precautions:
Caution should be exercised in patients with increased intraocular pressure or narrow-angle glaucoma, in patients with pyloric stenosis, gastric ulcer hampering gastrointestinal motility, prostatic hyperplasia or obstruction of the bladder neck, hyperthyroidism, bronchial asthma, cardiovascular disease and hypertension, with porphyria (clemastine may increase the clinical symptoms of this disease) and in elderly patients (due to an increased risk of side effects such as dizziness, sedation, low blood pressure). You should not drink alcohol while using klemastine. The use of clemastine together with drugs that inhibit the activity of o.u.n. Table. contain lactose - should not be used in patients with rare hereditary galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency (Lapp type) or malabsorption of glucose-galactose.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Due to the lack of appropriately documented results of the safety assessment, the administration of clemastine to pregnant women is not recommended. Klemastyna can be used during pregnancy only if clearly necessary. Klemastyny should not be used in women who breastfeed because it passes into breast milk, where it reaches 1/4 to 1/2 of the maternal plasma concentration.
Side effects:
Nervous system disorders: sedation, drowsiness, headache and dizziness, impaired coordination, confusion, anxiety, excessive agitation, tiredness, tremors, insomnia, blurred vision, diplopia, vertigo, tinnitus, convulsions, impaired concentration. Gastrointestinal disorders: stomach pains, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, lack of appetite. Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: increased secretion of airway secretion, tightness in the chest, wheezing, dry mouth, nose and throat, nasal congestion. Cardiac and vascular disorders: hypotension, palpitations, tachycardia, additional cramps. Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: urticaria, rash, pruritus. Blood and lymphatic system disorders: leukopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, haemolytic anemia.
