Acne vulgaris, especially comedic, follicular and pustular. Acne focused, purulent and keratinous.
Composition:
1 ml of 0.025% fluid contains 250 μg of tretinoin and 50 μg of tocopherol acetate; 1 ml of 0.05% fluid contains 500 μg of tretinoin and 100 μg of tocopherol acetate.
Action:
Anti-acne preparation. Tretynoin induces profound metabolic changes in the keratinous epithelium. In researchin vivo andin vitro increases proliferative activity of epithelial cells and cellular differentiation. As a result, tretinoin suppresses epidermal keratosis, exfoliates keratinized epidermis and prevents the formation of comedones. Tocopherol exhibits oxidation-reduction properties. It inhibits the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids and is a stabilizer of cell and lysosomal membranes. It has a protective role against the action of free radicals and lipid peroxides.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Epithelioma of the skin, also in the family history. acute dermatitis, e.g. acute eczema, atopic dermatitis. Rosacea. Periorbital dermatitis. Pregnancy.
Precautions:
Wait until all symptoms of skin irritation disappear before using the medicine. If skin irritation occurs during treatment, patients should be advised to use the product less frequently or to discontinue use for a period of time if this is justified by worsening symptoms; if the symptoms are severe, discontinue use. Do not use the drug on the skin with sunburn. Avoid contact of the preparation with the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and mouth, nipples and damaged skin. The drug should not be used in young children. Due to the propylene glycol content, the drug may cause skin irritation.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation is contraindicated during pregnancy. Take special care while taking the drug in breast-feeding women.
Side effects:
Skin irritation can often occur, the symptoms of which are erythema, dry skin, excessive skin exfoliation, burning sensation, pricking and itching, and rash and periodic changes in skin color (especially for light and sensitive skin). In rare cases, bubbles and scabs, eye irritation and swelling occur. In addition, contact allergy and increased sensitivity to sunlight and other UV sources were observed.
Dosage:
Locally, on the skin. A thin layer of liquid is applied to the affected skin after it has been cleaned and dried using a moistened cotton swab. In the case of sensitive skin, the liquid should be used once a day or every other day, at night. Treatment should last at least 6-14 weeks. Therapeutic effects usually occur after 6-8 weeks of use. In the first week of treatment, inflammatory changes may become more severe.
