Acne vulgaris - mild to moderate in intensity: acne, acne, maculopapular pustular acne.
Composition:
1 g of cream or gel contains 1 mg of adapalene. The cream contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate. The gel contains propylene glycol and methyl parahydroxybenzoate.
Action:
Adapalen is a naphthalene carboxylic acid derivative with properties similar to retinoids. By affecting the change of gene expression and the synthesis of new mRNA, it affects the normalization of keratinization and differentiation of the epidermis. It impairs the formation of inflammatory cell mediators of inflammation. Applied to the skin, it prevents the formation of blackheads (open and closed) and reduces inflammatory changes (papules and pustules). It is more anti-inflammatory than retinoids. It practically does not penetrate into the bloodstream after local application.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Severe acne or acne covering a large area of the skin. Pregnancy. Do not use on damaged skin, tanned or with eczema other than acne.
Precautions:
In the short time after the start of treatment, redness, irritation and dryness of the face may appear - in such cases, treatment should be discontinued for a few days until the symptoms disappear. Avoid contact of preparations with mouth, eyes and mucous membranes. The preparations should not be used in children <12 years. Due to the content of excipients (cream contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, gel contains propylene glycol and methyl parahydroxybenzoate) allergic reactions may occur (possible late-type reactions).
Pregnancy and lactation:
Do not use the product during pregnancy. If a woman becomes pregnant during treatment, the preparation should be discontinued. The preparation can be used during breastfeeding. It should not be used on the breast in breast-feeding women to avoid contact with the medicine.
A small amount of cream or gel is applied to the skin, except around the eyes and lips, as well as nasolabial folds, once a day, in the evening. Apply the product 10-15 minutes after washing and drying the skin with a towel. If after 3 months there is no cure, the physician should decide on the further use of the preparation.
