1 g of gel contains 10 mg of Clindamycin in the form of phosphate.
Action:
Semi-synthetic antibiotic from the group of lincosamides, showing bacteriostatic activity, and in high concentrations bactericidal. The mechanism of action consists in blocking protein synthesis by reversibly binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit and disrupting the extension of the polypeptide chain. It works on many Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, including most strainsPropionibacterium acnes. Clearing of skin lesions is observed within 6 weeks, and the optimal treatment result is visible after 8-12 weeks. The absorption of the drug is very limited; metabolism occurs in the skin, then the drug undergoes biotransformation in the liver and is excreted mainly in the bile.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Clindamycin, lincosamide antibiotics or excipients of the preparation.
Precautions:
If local skin irritation or signs of allergy occur, treatment should be discontinued. If diarrhea occurs, treatment should be discontinued. The drug should be used with particular caution in patients with intestinal inflammation, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, colitis after antibiotic therapy and myasthenia gravis.
Pregnancy and lactation:
During pregnancy, use only if absolutely necessary. Do not use during breast-feeding.
Side effects:
Rare: skin irritation (burning, pruritus, erythema, excessive dryness or oily skin, folliculitis, allergic contact dermatitis). Prolonged or repeated treatment may cause the development of non-susceptible microorganisms. In very rare cases, systemic side effects (eg abdominal pain, bloating, dyspeptic symptoms, diarrhea, pseudomembranous colitis) may occur.
Dosage:
Adults and children over 12 years of age: a thin layer of gel is applied to the affected areas twice a day - morning and evening. The gel should be applied to clean, dry skin. After applying the gel, wash your hands thoroughly. The average treatment period is 4-8 weeks.
