Relief of nervous tension and feelings of anxiety. The optimal effect occurs after 2-4 weeks of use, therefore the preparation should not be used temporarily. If the symptoms persist or worsen after 2 weeks of use, please consult your doctor.
Composition:
1 tabl for sucking contains 60 mg of a mixture of menthol and menthyl isovalerate. The product contains sucrose.
Action:
The drug has a combined effect of isovaleric acid and menthol. Isovalerate acid has an inhibitory effect on the function of the cerebral cortex and therefore has sedative and hypnotic effects. Menthol, by acting on cold receptors, gives a feeling of freshness, hyperventilation, which results in a slightly toning effect. Mammalian isovalerate as a lipophilic substance is absorbed quickly, and then, through the action of esterases, it is hydrolyzed with the formation of two compounds: menthol and isovaleric acid. Menthol is mainly excreted in bile. The primary metabolite is menthyl glucuronate, which goes into the intrahepatic circulation. Urinary excreted metabolites arise from menthol hydroxylation and are partially excreted as glucuronacid conjugates.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
In patients with heartburn or oesophageal hernia, the symptoms can sometimes get worse under the influence of menthol; in this situation, the preparation should be discontinued. Caution should be exercised in patients with peptic ulcer disease or inflammatory changes of the gastrointestinal tract. Patients with rare hereditary disorders associated with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not take the preparation. Due to lack of experience regarding use, the drug is not recommended in children and adolescents.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The product is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
Side effects:
With long-term use, side effects may occur, which disappear spontaneously after discontinuation of the preparation: local allergic reaction in the oral cavity (contact allergy); menthol hypersensitivity reactions with symptoms of headache, bradycardia, muscle tremor, ataxia, anaphylactic shock, skin rash are described.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults: 1 tabl. for sucking 3 times a day.
