Composition:
1 tabl contains 1 mg boldin and 23.6 mg of dry extract from alona; content of antisera compounds expressed as aloin 3.6 - 4.4 mg.
Action:
The product has a relaxant effect on smooth muscles of the bile ducts. It stimulates the secretory functions of the liver and stomach. It stimulates gastrointestinal motility and acts mildly laxative.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Cirrhosis, obstruction of the bile ducts and digestive tract, constriction of the gastrointestinal tract, intestinal atony, appendicitis, inflammatory diseases of the large intestine (eg Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis), renal failure, abdominal pain of unknown etiology, diarrhea, balance disorders -elektrolitowej. Children under 12 years.
Precautions:
Use with caution in combination with diuretics (risk of hypokalemia) and in patients with cholelithiasis. Do not use for longer than 7-10 days, as long-term use of the preparation may lead to habituation and aggravation of constipation. The preparation should only be used if the therapeutic effect can not be achieved by changing the diet or by using milder laxatives. Avoid use during menstruation.
Pregnancy and lactation:
There were no controlled clinical trials in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding. There have been reports of abortifacient and teratogenic effects of very high doses of bolden and ethanol extract from boldo leaves in rats, therefore it is not recommended during pregnancy. Small amounts of active metabolites of aloe extract are transferred into breast milk.
Side effects:
Vomiting, diarrhea, hypokalaemia, biliary colic and allergic reactions may occur. In rare cases, a change in the color of the urine.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults: 1 tabl. 3 times a day (as a choleretic and gastric preparation); 1-3 tabl once in the evening (as a laxative). Children over 12 years of age and the elderly: 1-2 tabl. daily.
