Supportive in convalescence after liver damage caused by internal or external factors, e.g. alcohol, toxic plant protection products. Helpful in ailments that occur after acute and chronic liver disease (bloating, flipping).
Composition:
1 tabl contains 70 mg of silymarin from dry extract from the fruit of Milk thistle (24-27: 1), with a content of 58% ± 10% of silymarin, calculated as silibinin. The preparation contains sorbitol.
Action:
The effectiveness of the preparation is based only on long-term use and experience. Silymarin reduces the level of transaminases (AST, ALT) and bilirubin and increases the concentration of albumin in the blood plasma in states after acute toxic liver damage or chronic inflammation of this organ. It stabilizes the cell membranes of hepatocytes, protecting the liver from the harmful effects of toxic substances, and increases the synthesis of ribosomal RNA and enhances the transcription process.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
Due to the lack of tests, the use is not recommended in children under 12 years of age. Due to the content of sortbitol, it should not be used in patients with rare hereditary fructose intolerance.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Due to the lack of detailed clinical trials on the teratogenic effects of silymarin and its ability to pass into breast milk, the preparation should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects:
Nausea, epigastric discomfort, joint pain, pruritus, headache and rash. After taking higher doses, there is occasional laxative effect.
Dosage:
Orally. In light cases: 1 tabl. 3 times per day. In more severe cases: 2 tabl. 3 times per day. After the disability, one tablet is given 3 times per day.
