Helpful in constipation, chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, biliary function disorders, obesity.
Composition:
1 tabl contains 320 mg of Carlsbad's artificial salt, including 0.1408 g of anhydrous sodium sulphate, 0.0064 g of potassium sulphate, 0.0576 g of sodium chloride, 0.1 1152 g of sodium bicarbonate. The product contains sucrose.
Action:
Artificial Carlsbad salt contains sodium sulphate, potassium sulphate, which have a laxative, cholagogue and cholagogue effect, as well as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Carbonate ions alleviate the irritating effect of sodium chloride and sulphates on the gastrointestinal mucosa. Artificial Carlsbad salt very well dissolves in water. It is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It excreted in the urine.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
Due to the sugar content, caution should be used in patients with diabetes. Patients with rare hereditary disorders associated with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not take the preparation. It contains up to 8.89 mmol (or 204.50 mg) sodium per dose, which should be taken into consideration in patients with reduced renal function and in patients who are controlling sodium in the diet.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The drug can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding only in cases where, in the doctor's opinion, the benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Side effects:
Frequent use of high doses of salt causes constant alkalization of urine. Due to the sodium content it can cause high blood pressure.
Dosage:
Oral: 2-4 tabl. once a day, on an empty stomach. The tablet dissolve in half or whole glass of boiled hot water.
