Short-term, local treatment of pain associated with not sore throat infections.
Composition:
1 pellet contains 8 mg Lidocaine hydrochloride; the drug contains sorbitol.
Action:
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to lidocaine hydrochloride, local anesthetics from the amide group or to any of the excipients. Children <12 years.
Precautions:
Pregnancy and lactation:
Do not use during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. If the medicine is used as prescribed, lidocaine is excreted in human milk in such small amounts that it is unlikely that the breast-feeding child will be at risk.
Side effects:
Rare: dysgeusia or tongue numbness. Very rare: hypersensitivity reactions, irritation in the mouth, laxative effects due to the content of sorbitol. No systemic side effects of lidocaine should be expected after using lozenges.
Dosage:
Adults: 1 lozenge suck every 2 h. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 6 pellets. Do not use pastilles for more than 3 days.
