Composition:
5 ml syrup contains 10 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide, 30 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, 1.25 mg triprolidine hydrochloride. The preparation contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate, ethanol, liquid maltitol, quinoline yellow (E 104), cochineal red (E 120), brilliant black (E151), sodium benzoate.
Action:
A medicine soothing symptoms of a common cold with combined effects of ingredients. Triprolidine is an antagonist of the histamine H receptor1. The maximum concentration in plasma reaches after 2 hours. It is metabolised in the liver and excreted unchanged in the urine. Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic, acts on α-adrenergic receptors of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract, reduces swelling and congestion of the nasal mucosa and increases its patency. In combination with triprolidine it inhibits the sneezing reflex and reduces the amount of nasal secretion. The onset of pseudoephedrine is observed after 15-30 min., The action time is 3-4 h. Pseudoephedrine is partially metabolised in the liver and excreted mainly in the urine. Dextromethorphan is an opioid derivative, it works antitussive by inhibiting the cough center in the medulla. The onset of action is observed after 15-30 minutes, the duration of action is 5-6 h. It is excreted in the urine in unchanged form and in the form of metabolites. T0,5 dextromethorphan in the blood is 1.4-3.9 h; T0,5 the dextromethorphan metabolite is 3.4-5.6 h.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Concurrent treatment with MAO inhibitors and for 2 weeks after discontinuation. Bronchial asthma. Severe hepatic and renal failure. Precautions:

Pregnancy and lactation:
The preparation is not recommended for use during pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential not using an effective method of contraception. Breast-feeding should be discontinued during treatment. The active substances in the preparation are excreted in human milk and may cause an increase in blood pressure, stop breathing, excessive stimulation or irritation in newborns.
Side effects:
Very rare: arrhythmias (tachycardia); drop in mood, fatigue, agitation, dizziness, sleep disturbances, drowsiness, anxiety, hallucinations; dry mouth and nasopharynx; nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhea; urinary retention and painful urination, especially in men with symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia; rash with pruritus or without pruritus,urticaria.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml of syrup 3-4 times a day; children 7-12 years: 5 ml of syrup 3-4 times a day. Use no more than every 6 hours.
