Gastrointestinal motility disorders referred to as irritable bowel syndrome or functional gastrointestinal disorders - abdominal pain, intestinal cramps, diarrhea or constipation.
Composition:
1 tabl powl. contains 100 mg of trimebutine maleate.
Action:
The preparation is active in the gastrointestinal tract for gut motility. Trimebutin is an agonist of peripheral enkephalinergic receptors: μ, δ, κ. The effect depends on the functional status of the gastrointestinal tract. It stimulates gastrointestinal motility by combining with peripheral μ and δ receptors, or acts as an inhibitor in combination with κ receptors. The drug exerts a prokinetic effect in atony and hypomotorics and suppresses intestinal wall tension and has antimotor and spasmolytic effects. The maximum concentration in the blood occurs after 1-2 h. The drug is excreted mainly in the urine.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to trimebutine or to any of the excipients.
Precautions:
Pregnancy and lactation:
The drug should not be given to women in the first trimester of pregnancy. In the second and third trimester of pregnancy, it can only be used in cases of extreme necessity. During breast-feeding, the use of the drug is not contraindicated.
Side effects:
They are rare and their character is transient and mild. Rare: cutaneous allergic reactions, fatigue, nausea.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults: 1 tabl. 3 times a day. In exceptional cases, the dose can be increased to 6 tablets. daily in divided doses. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
