Symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders associated with excessive accumulation of gases (bloating), also after surgery. An auxiliary agent in the preparation of patients for abdominal examinations (radiological, ultrasound, gastroscopic examination). In studies using double contrast as an additional substance given together with a contrast agent. Drops are also used in adjunctive therapy of intestinal collections in infants over 1 month of age. and in the poisoning with surfactants as a suds suppressant of gastrointestinal content.
Composition:
1 capsule contains 40 mg simeticone; 1 ml of emulsion (20 drops) contains 40 mg of simethicone.
Action:
Simetikon lowers the surface tension of gas bubbles contained in the food and mucus of the gastrointestinal tract, causing them to break and absorb through the intestinal walls or expulsion. During ultrasound and radiological examinations: stomach, intestines, pancreas, gall bladder and kidneys, it prevents the gas and foaming food from overlapping with the image of the organs being examined. Simethicone is not absorbed from the digestive tract and is excreted unchanged.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Precautions:
Drops do not use in children up to 1 m.ż. While using the preparation, do not drink carbonated beverages. The drug in the form of capsules due to the content of the dye - sunset yellow S (E110) can cause allergic reactions.

Dosage:
Orally. In conditions of excessive accumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract, infants from 2 months of age: 1-2 ml (20-40 drops) daily in 2-4 divided doses; children 2-6 years old: 1 ml 3-5 times a day; children 7-14 years old: 1-2 ml 3-5 times a day or 2 capsules 3-4 times a day; adolescents and adults: 2 ml 3-5 times a day or 2 capsules 3-4 times a day. In the preparation of patients for diagnostic tests in the abdominal cavity: on the day before the examination - 2 capsules 3 times a day or 2 ml drops 3 times a day and in the morning on the day of the test - 2 capsules or 2 ml drops. As an addition to the suspension of the contrast agent: 4-8 ml per 1000 ml of contrast agent used during the double contrast study. In the case of poisoning with surfactants, depending on the severity of poisoning, children: 2.5-10 ml, adults: 10-20 ml. The preparation should be taken during or after a meal and if necessary before going to bed; treatment should be continued until the discomfort resolves, the preparation can be administered over a longer period of time. Infants, simethicone in the form of drops administered by adding it to a bottle with milk or with a small amount of liquid on a teaspoon before or after breastfeeding.
