NO-SPA ampoules, Chinoin Pharmaceutical and Chemical Works Private
indications:
Smooth muscle contraction states associated with bile duct diseases: cholelithiasis, cholecystitis. Contractions of the smooth muscle of the urinary tract: kidney stones, pelvic inflammation, cystitis, painful urinary urgency. Supportive in smooth muscle contractions of the gastrointestinal tract: in peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, in cramps of cardia and gastric pylorus, syndrome of irritable colon, spastic constipation and flatulence; in systolic states within the genital tract: in dysmenorrhea.
Composition:
1 ampoule of 2 ml contains 40 mg of drotaverine hydrochloride.
Action:
Synthetic medicine with spasmolytic activity on smooth muscles. The mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of phosphodiesterase IV (PDE IV), resulting in increased cAMP concentration, inactivation of myosin light chain kinase and smooth muscle relaxation. Drotaverin is used to treat smooth muscle contraction, both neurogenic and muscular. Regardless of the type of autonomic innervation drotavinin acts on smooth muscle found in the gastrointestinal tract, bile ducts, urogenital system and circulatory system. Due to the vasodilating effect, drotaverine increases blood flow in the tissues. Drotaverine is rapidly and completely absorbed after parenteral administration. The drug is metabolized in the liver. T0,5 is 16-22 h. Excreted mainly in the form of metabolites in the urine (approximately 50%) and to a lesser extent in the faeces (approximately 30%).
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to drotaverin or other components of the preparation, especially to sodium metabisulfite. Severe hepatic or renal failure. Severe heart failure (small throw syndrome). Children.
Precautions:
Exercise caution in patients with hypotension. Due to the content of sodium metabisulfite, caution should be used in patients with a history of asthma or allergy.
Pregnancy and lactation:
It can only be used during pregnancy if the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. Do not use the preparation during the delivery. It is not recommended to use the product during breastfeeding.
Side effects:
Rare: nausea, constipation, headache and dizziness, insomnia, palpitations, hypotension, allergic reactions, especially in patients hypersensitive to pyrosulfite.
Dosage:
Adults: subcutaneously or intramuscularly 40-240 mg per day in 1-3 doses. In the case of an acute attack of cholelithiasis or kidney stones, 40-80 mg is used slowly (approximately 30 sec) intravenously. In other spastic abdominal pain, 40-80 mg intramuscularly or subcutaneously. If necessary, the dose can be repeated up to three times a day.
