Composition:
1 capsule contains 167 mg of dry extract of linden inflorescence, 50 mg of dry extract of lemon balm herb, 20 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide.
Action:
Antitussive preparation, inhibiting bouts of dry cough of various origins. It contains dextromethorphan hydrobromide (a non-competitive inhibitor of the NMDA receptor in CNS) - a substance with antitussive action and substances supporting the healing effect: dry extract of linden inflorescence and lemon balm herb. After taking a single dose of dextromethorphan hydrobromide, the effect occurs after 10-30 min. The antitussive effect is maintained for 6-8 h. Dextromethorphan is easily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (94-97%), it is partially metabolized in the liver. T0,5 is 5-8 hours. It is excreted in the urine as metabolites.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Cough with a lot of secretions, bronchial asthma, severe liver problems, simultaneous admission of MAO inhibitors. Do not use simultaneously with mucolytics.
Precautions:
Caution should be exercised when administering the drug to people with liver insufficiency, bronchitis, and respiratory depression.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended.
Side effects:
Occasionally, skin allergic reactions, drowsiness, dizziness and gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting may occur.
Dosage:
Orally. Adults and adolescents from 12 years: 1 capsule 3 times a day. The maximum daily dose of dextromethorphan is 120 mg. Take after meals, swallow whole with liquid.
