Composition:
100 g syrup contains 0.1 g dextromethorphan hydrobromide and 25 g aqueous extract from lime inflorescence (5 ml of syrup contains 6.5 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide). The product contains sucrose (3.9 g / 5 ml).
Action:
Antitussive drug, inhibiting bouts of dry cough of various origins. It contains dextromethorphan hydrobromide (a non-competitive inhibitor of the NMDA receptor in o.u.n.) - a substance with antitussive activity and water extract of linden inflorescence - a soothing effect on cough irritations. After taking a single dose of dextromethorphan hydrobromide, the antitussive effect occurs after 10-30 min and persists for 6-8 h. Dextromethorphan is easily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (94-97%), it is partially metabolised in the liver. T0,5 is 5-8 hours. It is excreted in the urine as metabolites.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. A cough with a lot of secretion. Bronchial asthma. Severe liver disease. Do not use together with MAO inhibitors or mucolytics. Do not use in children under 2 years of age. In children from 2 to 12 years of age use only if clearly necessary.
Precautions:
Use with caution in patients with hepatic insufficiency, bronchitis, respiratory depression. The product contains sucrose - should not be used in patients with rare inherited disorders associated with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency. 5 ml of syrup contains 3.9 g of sucrose - this should be taken into account in patients with diabetes.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Due to the lack of data on the safety of the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding, use is not recommended.
Orally. Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 15 ml (ie 19.5 mg dextromethorphan) 3 times daily (do not exceed the dose of 120 mg dextromethorphan daily); children 6-12 years: 5 ml (ie 6.5 mg dextromethorphan) 3 times daily (do not exceed 60 mg dextromethorphan daily); children 2-6 years: 2.5 ml (ie 3.25 mg dextromethorphan) 3 times daily (do not exceed 30 mg dextromethorphan daily).
